General description

Diethyl ether (DEE) is a flammable and highly volatile organic compound commonly used as a solvent in organic synthesis. DEE can generate organic peroxides when stored for a long time, which can be prevented by adding butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) as a stabilizer. BHT scavenges the free radicals required for peroxide formation.

Application

Diethyl ether ACS grade solvent meets or exceeds the high standards of the American Chemical Society (ACS). It is ideal for most research needs and delivers replicable, publishable results.
Diethyl ether ACS grade solvent is used in:
  • Routine chemical synthesis
  • Drying & purification
  • Critical labware cleaning
