General description

Polystyrene based microparticles (size: 30 μm) are a particle size standard, ideal to determine particle size distribution (PSD) of test samples.

Application

Used for equipment particle size monitoring and validation.
Also used to:
  • investigate the impact of polystyrene microplastics on marine biota and organic matter
  • study optical confinement in optofluidic laser measurements

Features and Benefits

  • suitable for routine instrument calibration checks, testing and corrections
  • available in 5 and 10 mL pack sizes as neat samples

Analysis Note

For every lot exact values of particle size and standard deviation are determined with an accuracy of 0.01 μm using a Coulter Multisizer.
