General description

Bovine serum albumin (BSA) is a non-glycosylated globular protein. This α-helical protein belongs to the serum albumin family. BSA comprises three domains with two sub-domains each and has 17-disulfide bonds linking them.

Application

OmniPur® BSA, Fraction V, Cold Alcohol Isolation has been used:
  • as a blocking agent in immunofluorescence assay
  • as a component of wash buffer in flow cytometric analysis
  • as a component of anti-clumping buffer in ClpXP Dumbbell assay, motility assay and wet preparation to remove unbound beads and unbound substrate-DNA-biotin

Biochem/physiol Actions

Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) is a crucial component for cell culture media, which can stimulate embryonic stem cells (hESCs) differentiation. It helps in the transportation of drugs, hormones, and fatty acids.
