Application

Colistin sulfate USP reference standard, intended for use in specified quality tests and assays as specified in the USP compendia.
Also, for use with USP monograph such as Colistin and Neomycin Sulfates and Hydrocortisone Acetate Otic Suspension

Biochem/physiol Actions

Mode of Action: Binds to lipids on the cell cytoplasmic membrane of Gram-negative bacteria and disrupts the cell wall integrity.
Antimicrobial spectrum: Gram-negative bacteria.
