General description

Abiraterone acetate is a pro-drug of abiraterone and a potent inhibitor of the enzyme CYP17, required for androgen biosynthesis in the adrenal glands, testes and prostate tissue.

Application

Abiraterone acetate USP reference standard for use in specified quality tests and assays.

Also used to prepare standard, and sensitivity solutions for assay, impurity analysis, and performance test by using liquid chromatography in conjunction with a UV detector according to the given below monographs of United States Pharmacopeia (USP):
