General description

Immunoglobulin G (IgG) belongs to the immunoglobulin family and is a widely expressed serum antibody. An immunoglobulin has two heavy chains and two light chains, connected by disulfide bond. It mainly helps in immune defense. It is a glycoprotein and a major class of immunoglobulin. Immunoglobulin G (IgG) participates in hypersensitivity type II and type III. Horse IgG has different subclasses, IgG2a, IgG2b, IgG2c, IgG1 and IgG(T). Compared to other IgG molecules, IgG(T) has more carbohydrate content. In healthy individuals, total IgG is dispersed equally between circulating plasma and interstitial fluids.

Specificity

This product was prepared from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography using Horse IgG coupled to agarose beads followed by solid phase adsorption(s) to remove any unwanted reactivities. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against Anti-Fluorescein, Anti-Rabbit Serum, Horse IgG, Horse IgG F(c) and Horse Serum. No reaction was observed against Horse IgG F(ab′)2.
