General description

The pH buffer standards are measured and qualified using differential potentiometry with two platinum hydrogen electrodes. This method allows the comparison of the reference buffers to the corresponding primary reference materials by PTB (Physical Technical Institute, Germany) and NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology, USA). Uncertainty data and traceability are documented in a comprehensive, batch-specific Certificate of Analysis.

Please visit ISO certificates and Site Quality Self-Assessments to access the current certificates of accreditation.

Download your certificate at http://www.sigma-aldrich.com to view certified values, including uncertainty and expiry date.

Application

For the preparation of DIN 19266 pH standard buffer solutions.

Calcium hydroxide (calcium dihydroxide or Ca(OH)2) is a reference buffer solution used to calibrate pH electrodes and pH instruments.
