Application

Amberlyst® A26 hydroxide form is a strongly basic, macroreticular resin with quaternary ammonium functionality used to catalyze aldol condensation, also useful in aqueous and nonaqueous media to remove anionic transition metal complexes, mercaptans and acids from hydrocarbons and other nonpolar solvents. It was used to determine cadmium using flow injection atomic absorption spectrometry. It was also used as packaging material for column chromatography assay.
Strongly basic (type I) anion exchange resin used to remove transition metal complexes and mercaptans from hydrocarbons, remove acids from non-polar solvents, and deacidifying phenol-acetone solutions. Its porous structure makes it a good polymeric catalyst in non-aqueous and aqueous media; it has no pH limitations.

Features and Benefits

Inert in strong acids, concentrated aldalies, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, alcohols, ethers, and other common solvents.
Maximum operating temperature 60C.
